Those skins wrap around the edges of the phone only, so there is no cover over the front at all (other than the edges). From the reviews I've read on those, the covers pull off easily. That is not true of this skin. It covers everything but the screen, and the keyboard, with openings for the USB, headphone port, speaker, camera, trackball - and two slots on the top edge of the phone and a tiny hole on the bottom edge (I'm not sure what they are for). Consequently, there is a strip covering the send/end/trackball strip, with an opening for the trackball. This helps to keep it all snug. It is not tacky, but this should help keep it clean.
