Customer Rating: Summary: Dock charger for the 8830 Comment: Poorly designed charging dock as inserting your BlackBerry triggers the soft key on the left side of the 8830.
Customer Rating: Summary: Does Not Work as Described Comment: I purchased this charger for my Blackberry 8830. It does a nice job charging the spare battery, but it does not charge the blackberry device as described - "With the AC adapter included in the box, you can charge your battery every time the Pocket PC sits in the cradle." This is not true. You need to connect the USB cable to your PC for the blackberry itself to charge. If your battery is run down to a single bar, the charger won't charge it at all - the blackberry gives you a message that you cannot charge via a USB port.
I love the concept of this device, just wish it worked as described.
Customer Rating: Summary: GOOD -- MINUS A MAJOR FLAW Comment: I bought two of these for my Verizon 8830. They are very simple and work and do what they should -- with one important flaw.
When you dock the BlackBerry, it presses on the shortcut key on the left side. Natively this shortcut key is set up for voice-dialing. So, every time you plug it in (unless you are delicate and sneaky) it demands that you "Say a command!" -- which obliges you to press the escape key. If you try to use it while docked this happens repeatedly.
I wrote them to suggest that they do one of two things. Design a strategically placed depression in the dock so it does not activate the shortcut key. Or, design a press on with strategically placed little risers that are high enough to prevent inadvertent activation of the shortcut key. The second solution is simple and allows for retrofitting. The first can be introduced in updated models.
Personally, I created a pair of little risers out of tape to resolve this.

Don't fumble around with cables! Here's a home for your device, and a quick-and-easy connection to your office or home desktop or notebook computer. This USB cradle provides you with the convenience to synchronize and recharge your Pocket PC quickly and easily. Now you can have a cradle sitting nicely on your desk, preventing your handheld from scratches / dents etc. With the AC adapter included in the box, you can charge your battery every time the Pocket PC sits in the cradle. It features a stylish design and a battery slot for charging a secondary battery. The advantage of this cradle over the simple sync cable is that you always have a clear view of your Pocket PC's screen when it's sitting in the cradle. Package Contains: 1 Docking Cradle, 1 AC Charger Adapter, 1 USB Cable
