Customer Rating: Summary: Good overall Comment: I recommend this product. It is a reasonable replacement for the supplied USB cable.
This product does what it says - it attaches your M600i to the USB cable. Overall, I like the device; only a few issues cause the lack of a "5 star" rating.
Pros:
1. Convenience - another way to connect the M600i. Good backup to the provided USB cable and power adaptor.
2. The USB cable is a standard mini plug on one end, standard USB plug on the other, so you can use a different USB cable if desired.
3. With the cradle, you can see any alarms or anything else that is happening with the M600i.
Cons:
1. The power cable is only 4 feet long, it really should be six feet. However, it really doesn't matter, because the USB cable will power the cradle. I'm not really sure why they include the power adapter. I suppose that one could use the cradle without USB sometime.
2. The blue "Power On" inidicator light is BRIGHT BRIGHT. I put a piece of electrical tape over it, and can still see the indicator.
3. Putting the M600i in the cradle is a two handed operation. The cradle tilts forward when you put the M600i into it, and you have to seat it all the way down, or it won't actually connect. So I end up holding the cradle with one hand and pushing the M600i firmly down with the other hand.
4. There is no way to use the cradle without charging the phone, since the USB cable powers the cradle. I sometimes prefer to sync the phone but not charge the battery. Evidently the cradle puts power from the USB into the Sony-Ericsson power lead, because the M600i setting for "charge using USB" has no effect on this cradle. They really should have simply routed the USB straight to the M600i rather than moved the power over the way they did.
One note. For upgrading firmware, I recommend using the supplied USB cable - it has special capabilities (filters) built in that a normal USB cable does not have.
