Customer Rating: Summary: It works! Comment: Had no problem fitting my Sprint HTC Mogul phone into this cell phone holder. The sides are adjustable and so is the bottom so that you can stick the car charger from underneath. I have it held really tight so it does not fall out. It's made viewing the GPS navigation map on my phone really easy and for making speakerphone phone calls.
I also had no problems installing the iGRIP into my Toyota Camry's vent. I just literally pushed it into the vent and it locked itself.
I recommend this item if you want to use speakerphone and/or GPS with your phone.
Customer Rating: Summary: Holds onto the phone! Comment: I purchased an iPhone a couple months ago and wanted a vent clipped phone holder because all the one's at the apple store put the phone way to low on the dash. I didn't want to be looking down while driving, with it on the vent it would be in my line of sight.
Pro: The mini gripper actually works very well! My phone has never fallen out of holder and I'm the speed racer type when I drive around.
Cons: The mounting bracket is weak. I actually managed to break one of the clips in the first 5 minutes of receiving it while trying to attach it to the vent. I ended up taking the brackets off and using 8 gauge wire to coil and connect it to the vent. Also the information deceivingly describes it as "rotatable" The holder is NOT rotatable, you can mount it upside down and move the supporting brackets to the other end.
Overall it works great now that its hard-wired to my dash.
Customer Rating: Summary: Even holds tight in a taxi! Comment: I purchased this iPhone car mount outside of Amazon because I saw it there first. This, however, is a better price ($18.95 when I am writing this review).
I bought this vent mount for my husband, who drives a taxi in New York City. He was skeptical at first because NYC potholes are notoriously deep, and taxicab shocks get worn down, which makes for a very bumpy ride. But he is thrilled with how tightly this mount grips the vent. He uses his iPhone map to find the best and shortest routes for passengers, and with the iPhone nestled in this vent mount he can follow the map safely and seamlessly. The phone does not move.
It's a bit tricky to put together and did not come with instructions. Simply put, the mount pushes up and locks into the holder. Then the "legs" that hold the phone up just slip into the bottom crevice. Once I figured all this out, we were golden.
We highly recommend this product.
