Summary: Bad Design Limits Usefulness
Comment: I bought this to use with an Iphone. Yes, it DOES work with Iphone but not perfectly. It really wants to play Ipod audio, and trying to play other formats with this device can be difficult because it thinks all commands are being sent to the Ipod function. But it works! It does stream audio to your bluetooth headset and does integrate with a separate bluetooth link with your phone. The problem is that the connector does not lock into place, and this is a serious flaw in my opinion. It is held in by the friction of the contacts only, and will fall out easily. It is not compatible with many kinds of cases for the iphone, and I would imagine the same problem occurs with Ipod cases. Other than the price, I cannot recommend this product.

Summary: Good design, poor implementation
Comment: This is a five-star design coupled with a 1-star implementation. I'm using it with an in-dash stereo that will stream bluetooth music, not a headset, so the motion problems others experience shouldn't be an issue. But they do seem to be.

The design is marvelous. I get in the, start the car, turn this thing on, plug it into the iPod, and we're off. When the two connect, the stereo will start the iPod playing wherever it left off. The stereo controls on the dash pretty much work as is, so I don't have to find the iPod; i can pause, resume and skip tracks just fine. In this respect, it actually works better than I expected.

The implementation is the problem. The connection skips in and out. The ipod doesn't act like it's coming unplugged. And the problem eventually stops - if I reseat it after it pauses a couple of times. This makes it worthless for short trips. Maybe the rubber band trick one of the other reviewers recommended will help. Then again, I thought it was a "warm up" issue, so maybe not.

Summary: bluetooth adapter
Comment: Produst works well and service was excellant. The adapter would be better if it locked in position.

Summary: worked great for about 2 months
Comment: I am also a user of the Oticon EPOQ hearing aids. This product was GREAT for letting me listen to my ipod. But. After about a month of use, it did become very loose and would decouple from the ipod very easily. And now, after about 2 months of using it, it seems to have stopped working completely. It pairs and connects to my streamer, but no sound comes through. It's too bad, really, because it was shaping up to be a really nice solution. Looks like I'm back to a wired connection until I find something better.

Summary: Needs work.
Comment: It's a lot of fun at first, but it gets very tedious after awhile between the charging, re-pairing and drops in signal. The on/off button is a problem, too. Also, the device does not secure itself to the iPod, it just hangs there (so, for example, don't go jogging with it).

The tiny single button contains the indicator light and when held down it should flash repeatedly to show it coming on or off. Hopefully, you'll be able to see it as long as your finger isn't covering the tiny button.

I realize the benefit of having a battery on the adapter; to save your iPod battery. But, I don't feel it's worth it. You have to use a separate charger, which is mini-USB, so other chargers will work with it but it won't charge through the computer's USB port. I think the better compromise would have been to engineer the device to be more power-efficient and simply use the iPod battery. Perhaps even have a pass-through like the XtremeMac FM transmitters so you can still charge the iPod while using this device.

It also needs to be slimmed down in all directions. Pay attention to the dock connector and notice the size of the device. Also note that it's slightly thinner than a 5G 60/80GB iPod but thicker than a 5G 30GB iPod. Removing the battery in the adapter could certainly help in this area which adds merit to my first point.

I use this device with the Jabra BT-620s so there shouldn't be any compatibility issues (even though I know it's just standard A2DP BT), but occasionally I have to re-pair the device. I'm not sure if it's just because the battery drained or what.

Now, all of the above mentioned complaints don't detract from the performance of this device, but drops in signal do. I will have my iPod on my desk--about 2 feet in front of me--with the headphones going and then signal will just temporarily drop (music continues playing on the iPod but nothing is heard from the headphones). It's semi-random but predictable in that it'll happen at least once every half-hour. Sometimes it will happen continuously. I've noticed that powering it off and re-paring seems to help. Unfortunately, I don't know if this is due to the headphones or this adapter or something else, but it's a big problem. There is no microwave near my desk or anything like that.

The device does work sometimes... but it's a love/hate thing so I'm giving it 2 stars (instead of flat-out 1 star).

This is not the device you want to cut the cord with. At nearly $100 between this device and decent BT headphones I would recommend you spend the money on hi-performance headphones instead. My recommendation is the V-MODA Vibe Earbuds - Gunmetal Black (in your color of choice). Spending $100 on headphones may seem like a lot... but hey, you're already looking to spend about that much to go wireless.
