Customer Rating: Summary: Works Great Comment: I have used this adapter with a Sanyo cellphone and it worked just fine. It was very handy when I found out you can charge the adapter while in use.
Now, I use the BT adapter in a ham radio application to provide a wireless transmit/receive link from my headset to a radio. Works fine!
Customer Rating: Summary: DOes not adapt Comment: I tried to use this unit with three different telephones and 2 different receivers--no combination worked. A VERY useless device. Maybe it works only with its own companion receiver, but if so, the description should state so. Bottom line, don't waste your time or money!
Customer Rating: Summary: Poor design Comment: Cardo 500 bluetooth headset has a really nice and ergonomic design. This adapter is a totally different story.
To start with - it is too big. Along with my cellphone (Audiovox 8600) which is relatively small in of itself, it feels like having an apple in my pocket. Secondly - the buttons are too big. They get accidentally pressed, and it was not uncommon for the special unlocking sequence to be pressed and then hell breaks loose. Finally, although my specifc phone model can work with the Jabra A210 in automatic mode, this adapter does not know to go into standby after some period of inactivity and therefore drains the battery. The manufacturer's suggested to use in manual mode - but then what's the point... I had to return this.
Cardo says a new version is due in June. I wonder how that would be priced.

Cost-effective Bluetooth functionality for standard mobile phones. Your old cellphone can do the job!
While the Bluetooth revolution promises to bring a wealth of convenient and versatile functionality to the world of mobile communications, purchasing a high-end Bluetooth cell phone may still not be affordable to some people, especially among the younger generation.
Enter Cardo's Universal Bluetooth Adapter. More than just another accessory, this ultra-compact device converts your standard mobile phone into a Bluetooth powerhouse. Plug the BTA II in to the audio jack of your standard cell phone and begin to enjoy the benefits of hands-free Bluetooth communications. The BTA is compatible with most mobile phones available in today's market.
Cardo's Bluetooth Adapter also works with land-line phones!! If your DECT land-line phone or your cordless phone has a 2.5mm jack and works at the 900 MHz or 1800 MHz frequency, it will almost certainly work with the BTA and the scala-500 headset. Try it out, and if it works, you will be able to extend your hands-free communication experience into your office or home.
